These ancient bee hives sat on a corner of the field, as we enter the drive, visiting friends in Mocksville, NC, each season. Early on, I captured the light at dusk shining on them just right, capturing their bright colors. They are now completely covered in vines and dilapidated. But this year, now beginning in oils, I knew I had to paint them, and I was so grateful that I had taken a photo of them in all their glory!
