The bison were traveling to warmer grounds. They gathered and followed, one by one, sometimes bunched up, from all over the northeast part of the park. They converged at one hillside and disappeared over the other side. It was like someone sounded a horn and started moving. Very curious. The next day we drove through the Lamar Valley again and saw nary a bison .
