Oil on linen. I like to find the abstract bones within a representational scene. In order to focus on this hawk's quiet intensity as it scanned the dense cloud cover for prey, I stripped away elements like trees and buildings that started to feel like visual clutter. What's left is less about what I see and more about what I feel.
