The Light of Our Life

This painting captures a candid moment where three girls momentarily stop what they're doing to smile for a quick photo. In the distance, the sun is setting - Its time to go home soon. In this painting I intentionally disregard conventional compositional rules to create the appearance of an amateur photograph. The horizon is centered and visually the painting is weighted heavier on the right side. Loose brush strokes create a hazy, dreamy effect, allowing the viewer to superimpose their own experiences onto the painting.
