Desert Thunderstorm is painted with soft pastel on Art 500 sanded paper. While driving home on Highway 99 I saw these magnificent thunder clouds and took several photos through the windshield. Shortly after we drove through an absolute torrential downpour from these storm clouds. I decided to paint them but put them over a vast Nevada desert to emphasize the clouds.
