I painted this on location in the countryside a short walk from Florence. I completed this in one session in around 2 hours, working in oils.
The inspiration behind this painting was to try and capture the mood of the hazy afternoon light drifting over the olive groves, as well as the sense of distance of the hills and trees receding into the distance.
