Morning on the Moose

This section of the Moose River is lined with beautiful granite boulders and the water flows in rippling rapids dancing over more submerged rocks. This particular morning the sun added a soft peach glow over an otherwise very neutral scene. I took video of the river plus various images. In my studio I used creamy translucent oils to paint solid hard rocks. I really enjoy the process of building up layers of colors and using soft and hard edges to create the textures and colors that make the rocks come alive and the water flow.
