The painting is of a portion of the Poudre River Trail which runs adjacent to my house. I sketched and took a photograph of the scene. I used the photograph only as a reference for the general shapes in the rock formation. The colors, placement of trees, addition of bicycle were more about design and creating the feeling I have when I walk along the trail than producing an exact
representation of the scene.
