I painted this painting recently, plein air on a freezing cold winter's day in Brooklyn. I was fascinated by the earth tones of the houses and the trees that seemed to warm up the setting a bit, which is an urban park near my home. I also wanted to have a go at capturing the late afternoon light and the interesting shadows that you see in winter time cast by bare trees.
