Storm on the North Rim

It was the monsoon season and I could see the storm brewing but I thought I could get some drama in a plein air painting. I was scoping out a spot and the lightning storm started in the distance, the sun came in and out various clouds and the rain threatened. I waited on a rock for half an hour to see if the storm would veer off....but it got closer! I took a photo as the sun emerged and quickly headed for the car. The skies opened up two minutes after I closed the car door. But the energy of the moment was easy to remember!
